Lavasoft Ad-aware SE is faster, easier to use, and more robust at finding and deleting most spyware than its predecessor. Unfortunately this version offers no e-mail support for its free version, and the online support area provides limited information. Overall, Ad-aware SE is a good option for keeping spyware and adware under control on your PC.

The interface is easy to understand, and the Home section should steer new users to the necessities: starting a scan, checking shield status, and updating definitions. As in older versions, the Quarantine section will let you restore any components accidentally altered after a system scan.
